New Mayhem Album Incoming, Because the World Clearly Wasn’t Bleak Enough Already

0

For the first time since 2019, the world is once again staring down the barrel of a new full-length release from Mayhem. And though we may not know when it’ll be done and in our hands, per se, we know it’s currently in the works thanks to a recent social media update from guitarist Teloch.

Having been an integral part of the band’s creative output for the last 10 years or so, Teloch would certainly be the guy who’d know about the band’s plans moving forward. In a post on his Instagram page, Teloch blamed his recent absence from social media on the fact that he’d been working on Mayhem’s first new album since 2019’s Daemon.

“My excuse for not being active on here for the last months: Working on the new Mayhem. I need to focus. My brain is fried. Guitars, bass, drum beats, vocal guides, effects, synths yadayada.”

Just so we’re perfectly clear, this new album won’t be the first new release since 2019. The band released the Atavistic Black Disorder / Kommando EP back in 2021, which featured unreleased tracks from the Daemon s essions, as well as covers from punk bands like Discharge, Dead Kennedys, and the Ramones. Two years later in 2023, the band also dropped the live album Daemonic Rites, which was recorded during shows from 2019 to 2022.

Still, we’re mostly all left in the dark about this Daemon follow-up. Once we know more, we’ll be sure to share the deets.
