APPARENTLY PEOPLE STILL CARE ABOUT THOSE “EXPLICIT LYRICS” STICKERS

Parental Advisory Explicit Lyrics According to the Pine Bluff Commercial, Maryland couple Trevin and Melanie Skeens are ending their lawsuit alleging Wal-Mart deceived customers by selling a copy of the Evasuckence album Anywhere But Home, containing explicit lyrics without parental advisory labels. The couple said they bought the CD at Wal-Mart for their daughter’s 13th birthday because they believed the company didn’t sell uncensored recordings without warning labels.

What the fuck — people still actually care about those labels? Are we living in the year 1984?  What, like your fucking daughter never heard the word “fuck” before Amy Fucking Lee sang it? Go have a tea party with Tipper Gore.

Apparently the Skeens didn’t even care that much — their attorney says that the Washington County Circuit Court judge will dismiss their complaint for lack of activity.

  1. They’re actually using those stickers to cover over part of the Puscifer cover art, so that it looks like the album is called “V is for Va.” As though any moron couldn’t figure out that that the letters “G-I-N-A” are hidden below the sticker.

Record Co’s are way to liberal in pasting these shits on CD covers these days, so it’s cool to hear some had restraint in pasting it on a disc that really doesn’t need it. We’re talking Evanesence here, not Gwar. I’m guessing if you forced yourself to listen you may count 2 or 3 ‘obscene’ words max, and included may be God damn, and ass.

What is wrong with taking the CD back to the store and asking for your money back? Why make some douchebag attorney a little richer for bullshit like this? Hell, doesn’t Wal-mart have the most liberal return policy of any retailer? Even though the policy is that opened CDs can’t be returned, I can’t imagine that two minutes with a store manager wouldn’t quickly solve the problem. What is wrong with people?

They’re just poor people who had a hair brained scheme to sue the giant money house that is Walmart for their piece of the pie. Poor folks, guess they realized they would lose. Any lawsuit against Walmart is ok w/ me.
