I WISH THE MEMBERS OF CAMP KILL YOURSELF WOULD KILL THEMSELVES

MetalSucks Maniac Tim Young e-mailed us over the weekend to suggest we spend some time talking about CKY. With all due respect to Tim (and not at all speaking for Vince, with whom I have not conferred on the subject), the reason I’ve never written about CKY is because I once had the displeasure of sitting through a CKY set, and I’d place the experience somewhere in between the time my dentist forgot to give me novocaine before he started drilling and the time I was thirteen and my old man found my cigarettes and went all Homer Simpson on me. Seriously. Not only did the music suck, but the band members were, by all appearances, total tool bags – especially the bass player, who kept making the kinds of “monster faces” one usually makes to get a giggle out of a little kid, lip synching along with the lyrics all the while.

ANYWAY, here’s CKY’s video for “96 Quite Bitter Beings.” It was directed to Bam Margera, who, if this clip is any indication, should probably stick to shoving things up his ass and whacking himself in the nuts for our viewing pleasure.

    Whoever wrote this article is obviously biased against Cky. Granted Bam got their name out there, but they’re a seperate entity from him now. And the video you picked just happened to be their first and it was HOME MADE. The band’s videos that have been produced by Bam are fantastic when their video budget went up. If Bam’s such a shitty director, how come other bands, such as HIM have used him to produce their videos? The videos look better than anything anyone at this little e-zine shit could come up with, that’s for sure. As for the old bass player, he’s gone. But what would you prefer someone on stage to do? Just stand there and maybe nod their head? Yeah, go listen to fucking emo then. This site sucks. I understand all of us have our different tastes in music but simply casting off their music as bad and stating as a fact is just wrong. Your words about them playing live is just as inane as your first statement. I know a ton of people who don’t even listen to CKY regularly but have seen shows by them and everyone agrees they put on one hell of a show. Maybe if you just pulled your head out of your arse once in awhile, put your arrogance aside, and came up for oxygen you’d have a more enjoyable show experience.

    Your comments about the individual band members couldn’t be farther from the truth. I was taught a long time ago you shouldn’t talk about things you know nothing about it, as it saves you from looking like a complete idiot. As a writer on this site, it may do you well to remember that. It sucks metal is in decline, it’s close-minded people like you who really throw salt on the wound by turning people off when you talk shit about talented bands like CKY.

    CKY are a deffinate band that will last for a very long time. Why? because they do not follow trends. Whoever posted this probably lives for dicks in the ass and gets off on watching the jackass guys shove objects up there. Probably one up there when he typed that. Not to mention why let this bother you? you know CKY is good, your friends know they are, so why let this get the best of you?

    All in all, basing some fact on a music video is rediculous because afterall it is a music video. Who cares who directed it. Now for people that have’nt had the chance to hear CKY I suggest you go buy their albums, you won’t regret it. If you do then Fall Out Boy or Slayer is probably your best bet. FCN~

    Man… I hate when people say that AACBF was horrible… Yeah i know, opinions…

    But you need to listen to this album A LOT to really appreciate and understand it. It tooked me at least a month, and since that, well i listen to this album once a day since 2 years. All guitar riffs are fucking … WOW … nobody could ever think of that except Miller himself, guitar tones are original as always, lyrics fits really well with the songs, Chad’s solos are amazing, Deron’s voice is better than Vol.1 and IDR, drumming is good as always, bass fits perfectly… These are only the main qualities of this album

    Listen to this album like 2-3 times a week, and you’ll probably start to understand this PERFECT album (…my opinion, my musical taste!)

    1. No other band in the world is cool and know all of their fans and hang out at every show.
    2.not one other band has yet came out with something like cky. Its because their sound is so unique and no one is original as them while the bands you listen to strive to have originality but are a successful failure.
    3.their stage presence is phonemenal. The bass player that made those weird faces is one of the best stage performers ever. How they look like tools. I guarentee they look better than any band you like…. actually who do you like I’d love to bash them. Its probably something gay like slayer.

    It’s sad you’d dismiss a band based entirely on one experience. To me CKY has been an acquired taste, I’ve grown to appreciate their music increasingly throughout the years.

    AACBF is a controversial album among fans, I’ve personally tried to learn to appreciate it but haven’t yet. And despite what some may consider their “fails” — I believe that the general consensus among most is that CKY, when they’ve struck the right chord, has the ability to make amazing music.

    So I know it’s fun to e-run around being a dick and flagrantly disregarding a band you associate with MTV fucks, but the fact of the matter is that they’re a hard working band who are incredibly loyal to their fans and have good intentions for the music industry. Not to mention, whether you like their music or not: if you’re trying to deny that they have any talent at all then you are flat out player hating.

    i really like CKY and I really enjoyed the CKY videos. There are many bands far more deserving of your hate filled rant.

    i have seen CKY live, at the Roxy, back in 2006. a really great band called Fireball Ministry opened for them and my husband and I got to meet Dave Grohl at the concert, who truly is the nicest guy in rock and made my husband’s night. CKY put on a great show, in my opinion.

    On top of all of this, I think a lot of people put down Bam Margera, who played a large part in the creation of Jackass. For all your hater nonsense, he is a millionaire a few times over and all you have is a blog.

    Stick to rants about ICP, Creed, Nickleback and the various other bands who actually slander the name of rock music and just don’t talk about CKY if they are not your type of music.
