Golly, it sure pays to visit Metalsucks regularly – even for a blogtributor like me! This morning, while perusing the “Upcoming Releases” list in the right-hand navigation, I happened upon the following series of words, which when read in the proper order present the following “Holy Shit”-worthy message:

March 23, 2009: Therapy? – Crooked Timber (Global)

Then I jizzed in my pants.

According to the Irish act’s website, Crooked Timber was produced by Andy Gill (guitarist for post-punk legends Gang Of Four) and features ten all-new tracks. One of these songs, a swaggering noise rock number entitled “The Head That Tried To Strangle Itself”, can be heard at Therapy’s MySpace page, but you might also want to peep this short video that previews snippets of some other tracks in a raw, unmastered state.

man, i used to LOVE this band. However, I lost interest in their stuff by like 2000 or so, as it all got pretty boring and stale. First few records still kick serious ass though.

For some reason I’m always compelled to listen to their output, even if it’s been rather “blah” as of late. Troublegum is one of my favorite albums from the 90′s, and “Suicide Pact” (1999) isn’t half-bad either.

  • mr lun

yeah, suicide pact i think was the one that just made me give up on them.

but troublegum is fatastic, and i liked the two after it as well, infernal love and, uh, whatever the one after that was. they made an interesting change in direction over those records. but when they went more simple after that again, it got kinda poopy, i thouhgt.

Great “jizz in my pants” reference. May be the funniest music video I’ve ever seen.

Suicide Pact was decent, but the followup was pretty forgettable – the appropriately titled “Shameless”…

Troublegum is the only album of theirs I know, but holy shit is it good. Reminds me of being in high school, driving around smoking cigs and rocking out. Great, great songs on that album.
