METALLICA WILL BE INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK N’ ROLL HALL OF FAME BY… FLEA?

flea-picI know this probably too much Metallica news for one day, but fuck it, I gotta get this off my chest.

I don’t have anything against Flea. I don’t have anything against the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And I know that the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame is probably even more insignificant than the Grammys.

Still: I just can’t believe that in the entire world, there was NO ONE MORE METAL who could have inducted the band. I understand they want someone whose name they can say on TV to boost ratings, but there had to be SOMEONE more qualified. Is there a rule against having a band that was inducting do the inducting? Were the dudes from Black Sabbath not available? Slash? Eddie Van Halen? Alice in Chains? Marilyn Manson? ANYONE?

What nonsense. We know the RN’R Hall of Fame doesn’t know any better – Flea is probably just as metal as Dimebag to them – but the band couldn’t intervene any? It’s like having Avril Lavigne perform at the MTV Icon thing – the band may as well show up wearing t-shirts that say “WE DON’T GIVE A FUCK, PAY US.”

Anyway, this ridiculousness will air on Fuse… sometime. I dunno. I’m just gonna watch it on the internet later, so, really who gives a fuck?

    Sounds great, actually. When people see Flea on stage and realize even he’s less bad than Metallica, the light might shine down on their fans and help them develop better taste in music.

      Too much attention to the RHCP? Maybe yes. But a group of talented original musicians who happen to become catchy to the public shouldnt take away from how great their music is. And if you want someone who is kick ass and not overrated check out John Frusciante’s (RHCP) solo albums. Blows most any musician in recent history out of the water. Btw, he quit the band because he thought they were too big.

    What’s wrong with Flea? And where was it stated that the person inducting the band had to be as “metal” as them? Maybe they just respected his talents as a great musician and thought he’d be great for the job.

    Either way, it’s just a ceremony. Fuck, you guys make it sound like they lost a Grammy to Jethro Tull or something.

    Ok seriously, I’m getting really tired of hearing people talk shit about Metallica, they are and always have been a great band. Most dipshits will say things like “oh they died in 1986″ or “yeah after cliff died they just went all to shit” you know what why don’t you mother fuckers talkin shit go out and accomplish everything they have. Its so easy for you to talk shit because Metallica isn’t angry like they used to be in their music, people change, times change, and honestly i’m almost positive that many people talk shit because their friends or people they know talk shit about metallica. If you’re a true fan or ever were, and you’re talkin shit about them now, i’ve got news for you, you are all homosexual.

    Like I said if you can do better then maybe you have some room to talk but i doubt it, just try and produce an album better than Death Magnetic, probably one you hate, because i doubt you can.

    Point being, Metallica rules, always have and always will. I’m not gonna let the changing times or the popular vote change my opinion on my taste in music. Like I said, don’t talk shit unless you can do better. Peace bitches!

    I like all those bands the previous guy listed but they didn’t grow such a large fan base from the ground up like metallica did. Metallica has a following, you can’t just blame it on mainstream bullshit like you guys always resort 2. They started from the ground up, don’t you think there is a reason why people love them so much? I mean they must suck if they have a loyal fan base and r so loyal to their fans. I like how you guys only judge them by what the media or mainstream news tells you about them. That is where your opinions always come from, so its really quite easy to shrug off ur senseless bullshit. Truly sitdown and actually listen to metallica lyrically, musically, and instrumentally. They don’t need arpeggios or a falsetto singer to prove they are good. The had the balls to change and develop into many layers, what are you gonna do to this reply call me fucking gay?     I dont really care for to much of anybody in the hall of fame besides Tom waits and a few others, but we need to get back to the good stuff sublime (even though they cant just play them more), incubus , sum 41, RHCP, subrosa union, nirvana (play them more), blink-182, slightly stoopid, even green day and many more
