EVERY TIME I DIE FALL OUT WITH THEIR BOY

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 at 2:22pm by Axl Rosenberg

Yesterday, at 10 a.m., our friends at Metal Insider reported that Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz has recorded guest vocals for the new Every Time I Die album.

This morning at 1 a.m., they reported that ETID drummer Mike Novak has split from the band due to “personal conflicts.”

Coincidence?

While you ponder that, enjoy the new ETID song below, entitled “The Marvelous Slut.” Metal Injection discovered it floating around on YouTube. It originally appeared on a recent Hurley-Epitaph Records compilation, which you can download here.

And, yes, that is Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato doing guest vox.

    eew. I hate ETID.

Keep posting shit about bands like this and we might as well call the site http://www.metalsuckscock.net cuz this shit aint metal. its gaaay

  2. kevin says:

Pretty sweet song, very punkish. Too bad about the drummer

Has anyone ever seen Fall Out Boy play? Pete Wentz does nothing. I always thought he was the lead singer just because he seems to be the face of the band. Much to my surprise he just stands on the side and bounces around while the fat dude sings. He doesn’t even play his bass most of the time. He offers up an occasional scream when it’s convenient for him, but this guy is like a 21st century Sid Vicious. In fact, he makes Sid Vicious look like Geddy Lee. All of Fall Out Boy is hopelessly untalented, but Pete Wentz is the worst of the lot. At least they represent the Jews though eh boys?

Too much pussy music talk…need me some God Dethroned or Skeletonwitch…

Whats with all the constant metal core coverage on this site?? Seriously, this shit is terrible and is a fleeting trend that will not be remembered in 5 years. Quit legitimizing this teenage hipster emo shit.

Every Time I Die aren’t really metalcore, their more Hardcore and southern rock, if you wanna pigeon hole a band, do it right.

      • \m/Eluveitie\m/ says:

Oh yeah, I picked out the Molly Hatchet influences right away

        • kevin says:

          Glad we’re in agreement then!

And I’m gonna assume that’s the only song you’ve ever heard by them, and that you’re a jackass.

          • \m/Eluveitie\m/ says:

Nah I heard that one “The New Black” they did off Guitar Hero II, but yes I am a jackass

    • Ben says:

I’m pretty sure that people thought death metal was a fleeting trend as well. In fact, people thought rock and roll was a trend that would soon go away. Stop kidding yourselves, metalcore is here to stay, and if you don’t like it, don’t listen. Simple as that.

      • Anselmowitz says:

Bahaha, hold that thought tight sonny. I spose Glam metal is forever also? The flaw in that logic is that Death Metal wasn’t popular in the mainstream, maybe to metal heads – but Metalcore reaches girlies, scenesters, kids who dont know better but want to be cool etc etc etc. Its already reached critical mass & on the decline, sure there might be a few bands that’ll still fly that flag but the next round of trendy marketable metal is already in the works in garages & minds of kids sick of listening to the same old shit. Enjoy your breakdown.

ETID is fuckin legit. Why all the hostility towards them?

  6. Jizzmaster3000 says:

They really do suck ass, and not the good kind of ass.

  7. Pete A. says:

Either way, Mike Novak is an awesome drummer. In this current scene of everyone trying to play faster than the next guy, this dude knows how lay back and groove.

I’m definitely digging the new song.

  8. keepitwolf says:

ETID is the shit. the last two albums have been so so though. this song is pretty good comparably. if you think every time i die is emo hipster shit or metalcore. you obviously havent heard “Last Night In Town” or “Hot damn!”. both are great very influential hardcore albums. im bummed about rat boy he was a good drummer

  9. ETID are great you numbskulls.

  10. Cory says:

stoked this dude left the band. I always thought he held the band back a bit and his fills always sound very similar.

  11. Johnny Death says:

I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope that any of one of there albums makes it on the list of the 21 greatest albums, just to piss some more people off.

  12. hrm says:

song sounds like big dirty throwback, and with the association with pete wentz and the way thier albums have been progressing makes me worry about the direction this band is going.

  13. ETIDIOT says:

Fall Out Boy and Every Time I Die have been friends since before either of their bands made it anywhere so I’m pretty positive Novak’s departure from ETID had nothing whatsoever to do with Pete Wentz doing guest vocals on the new album.

  14. Loganarchy says:

Good song. A bit short, but still killer. ETID never fail to satisfy.

  15. Caspar Colderson says:

a couple of facts, just so that you guys have reason to call me gay-ass-fag:
Pete Wentz actually does have a pretty sick growl, so you can’t put him down on not having a metal-lish vocal.
all of the members from FOB comes from the metal underground of Chicago, with the full band spawning from the metalcore band Arma Angelus, where Pete Wentz was in fact the lead-singer.
now, please tell me how much i suck and how much more metal than me you all are.

  16. MrC says:

OMG my spoon’s not metal, it’s plastic!!

  17. Dustin at Metal Blade says:

    ETID is the shit…period

  18. 20 eyes says:

hahahahaha what punk hav u been listening to?

  19. GamlaSonn says:

I thought this song wasn’t that bad, kinda trashy. Put on another song of theirs on youtube and lost interest

  20. linh says:

i miss this band, honestly. hearing this song helped me remember how much i love them. i think they’re great, and i don’t really see what’s so HORRIBLE about them.
and since when were they metalcore, or emo hipster shit? i can’t see that at ALL.

  21. Shwitz says:

If you want to hear a great band, check out All Time Low. Thats legit IMO

  22. Jackson says:

Good song, but far too short. Made me go back and listen to Hot Damn! though, such a good cd
