I am SO FUCKING HAPPY to let you all know that there’s a new Insomnium album, Across the Dark, coming out on Candlelight on September 7. If you like things that are a) epic, b) melodic, c) heavy, and/or d) just plain old fucking awesome, then you need to be listening to Insomnium. ‘Cause they rule. They rule all that they see and all that they don’t. And someday, if I ever have a daughter, I hope a member of Insomnium deflowers her.

You can listen to some samples from Across the Dark here. It sounds like an Insomnium album, which is to say, it sounds friggin’ sweet.

    I’m not into core too much, I don’t hate it either… but how can you talk about great bands like this and ignore them in order to promote so much core in the popular lists?

    Just listened to the samples. I was digging them big time until the autotune clean vocals in the third song. Why Insomnium Why!?!?!?!?!?! I don’t mind clean vocals but the autotune is so apparent and fake sounding. FUCK!!!!!!

    Heard about Insomnium about a month ago from MS and I really love their music. They remind me of Dark Tranquillity and DT is one of my favorites.

    But we all know, based on the fact that both 1349 and Anaal Nathrakh were both pushed back two weeks from their original advertised release dates, that this won’t drop until September 21st.

    I can’t believe you guys are all raving about this lightweight crap.
    Oh; I’m sure I’ll get negative feedback. They have mediocre chops, and the songs are MetalLite(TM). The last album also suffers from over-glossy Production making it even wimpier.
    I picture fat lonely MetalGoth chicks pumping this shit.
