DON’T BE A HYPOCRITE; GET EXCITED FOR HYPOCRISY!

hypocrisy - a taste of extreme divinityAnyone ’round here excited for Hypocrisy’s new album A Taste of Extreme Divinity? Me me me! Music aside, the album’s cover artwork is easily the most corny / awesome thing I’ve seen all year. Reminds me a lot of the cover for In Flames’ Whoracle.

I’ve actually really never gotten into Hypocrisy, not because I have anything at all against them but because they’re just one of those bands for whom no one ever came to me and said,” Dude, YOU, Vince Neilstein, need to listen to Hypocrisy.” Because if someone had done this I surely would’ve listened, and I surely would’ve loved. Everything that I have heard to date from the band, I have liked. So what held me back? I don’t know.

Here they are performing “Roswell 47″ at Summer Breeze this past (sigh) Summer. A Taste of Extreme Divinity drops Oct 23 in Europe and Nov 3 in the U.S.

What held you back? Maybe the fact that you were too busy blowing KSE to take the time to look for bands that aren’t as popular? Nonetheless, Hypocrisy is a great band.

      I chuckle and agree….

On an entirely different note, the next couple of months have some great metal albums coming out and i’m pretty gosh durned excited about it.

      words of wisdom!

      FACT.

  • Gallo666

I didnt like their last two records. Unnecesary melodeath

However. Obsculum Obscenum and Penetralia will haunt my grandchildren for all eternity

    • Gospel of Madness

Virus and the re-cut version of Catch 22 was melodeath?

      um…..ok……

      • Gallo666

well as close as it gets!!!

Osculum Obscenum is an album I never cease to enjoy. Emperor Magus Caligula totally killed it on that one vocals wise. Their new stuff like the Arrival is harder to get into, maybe because it leans way more towards the melodic spectrum. Peter is a great producer though, don’t get me wrong.

i agree with the comparison to whoracle’s cover. cheesey? no fucking way its way better than perhaps most of the covers coming out with any of the faux/non-tr00 band covers out that all the scene kids with their hair swoops think are “xBr0oT41x”

As far as the cover art goes….if I find it on vinyl, i’ll buy it, frame it, and hang it in my living room.
      It’s awesome!

        SAME.

Giant metalfests like that make me really wish I lived in Europe….Ozzfest is NOT an acceptable replacment. :/

    Virus, was fucking AWESOME!

Great band. Great live too. Their last couple of CD’s were kinda weak. Hope this one is better.

  • DONGMASTER

The first record I heard of there was The Arrival, and I fell in love with it immediately. I gave thei newer material a listen or two, but none of it really stuck with me as much. I’ll definitely give this a listen when it comes out, but sadly I’m not expecting much.

Virus kicks some serious ass and was one of my favs of 2005 I love most Hypocrisy albums, their selftitled, Penetralia, Final Chapter…..never got into Obsculum Obscenum though.

    Really excited for Extrme Divinity!
