AND THE NEW LINE-UP FOR DECAPITATED IS…

As first discussed back in October, Wacek “Vogg” Kieltyka, guitarist & sole remaining founding member of Decapitated, has announced the band’s new line-up:

  • Waclaw “Vogg” Kieltyka – Guitar
  • Rafal Piotrowski – Vocals
  • Kerim “Krimh” Lechner – Drums
  • Filip “Heinrich” Halucha -Bass

Sooo… not a lot of surprises here. We’ve known that Vogg was the band’s new drummer since July; I’m not sure why, after that initial announcement, anyone tried to keep the information under their hats. Maybe they were waiting for the ink on the contract to dry before saying anything? Do Polish death metallers sign contracts?

Whatever. This new version of the band has some big shoes to fill – Decapitated were pretty much decimated by a car accident in 2007 that left one member dead and another in a coma, so we’re not just talking about stepping in for talented musicians, but stepping in for talented musicians who will now forever be kept atop a pedestal, too.

Still, I think most of the metal world will be pretty interested to see how this plays itself out. If the new Decapitated make an awesome album, I suspect that fans will end up embracing these new musicians with open arms.

    I’m super stoked for some new material from Decapitated. Organic Hallucinosis was absolutely killer, and I’m sure they will perform to the already stellar expectations that Vogg is known for.

    I am so fucking happy about this, they are probably one of my top 3 favorite bands.

    However I’m slightly dissapointed by the vocalist tbh. I just checked out the bands he’s been in and he sounds a bit meh. But I’m not really worried because I trust Vogg to not pick a shitter. And we’ve all seen Krimh.

    Lets see, we have Vogg who’s awesome so no problem here. Krimh’s an insane drummer, he’s not as good as Vitek who’s a genius and my all times favourite but he’s still pretty good. Heinrich plays bass for Vesania and they are fucking ace, so he’ll do just fine. But I dont know about the vocalist he’s just a bit average really, hope he’ll at least do better than Sauron, I doubt he’ll stand a chance with Covan though.

    Wow, that vocalist is pretty ropey isn’t he. Would’ve thought there’d be plenty more talent out there wanting to take up the position.

    Guess i’ll have to wait and have my finger’s crossed he doesn’t ruin it.

    I’ve never really listened to Decapitated, but I heard a couple previews on iTunes and I liked them. Does anyone want to give me suggestions on where to start?

    This new line up thing almost makes me nervous. Decapitated is one of my favorite bands ever I just don’t want to be let down. *also crosses fingers*

    That singer is a pile of shit. Definately wont match up to the previous ones. He doesnt sound like he’d really fit with death metal thats set apart from the norm.
