ULCERATE THIS, ULCERATE THAT, ULCERATE ULCERATE ULCERATE

More than any other band we seem to get tons and tons of emails telling us how awesome Ulcerate are and that we should really write about them. And they are in fact pretty great, something I realize each time we get an email about them. My only excuse for not writing about them yet is… well, I haven’t gotten an excuse.

So here’s a post about Ulcerate. They play techy, grindy, brutal death metal (no breakdowns). They rule. So now you can stop emailing us about them. OK?

    They opened for Nile (along with Krisiun, Grave and Hackneyed) on the most recent european tour. Too bad I couldn’t fucking go…

      I was gonna go to the London date, but anyone who has tried to go there during a winter night will know that it’s absolute hell. Nowhere to park, very expensive hotels…

      I’m absolutely used to missed a lot of awesome metal shows, but missing Grave and Ulcerate… I was gutted. It topped off a very very crappy 2009 for me.

    This guys are awsome indeed. Saw them here in Portugal opening for Nile, too bad their sound didn’t match their quality. Anyway, it was pretty cool to see them play, I would never expect to see them here

    Finally a band from New Zealand that has got some sort of following. 8 foot Sativa sort of got there too I suppose. They’re worth checking out too.

    Ulcerate’s former vocalist has just started up a new act, The Mark of Man. Not nearly as tech as Ulcerate, but still brutal as shit.

    I just remembered that Ulcerate were one of the bands I mentioned when I was arguing over IWABO last month. Someone called them generic, hahaha… The difference in quality between the bands is epic.

    yes, Everything is Fire is fantastic, best of technical death metal combined with the sick dark atmosphere of black metal acts like Death Spell Omega or Ved Buens Ende. It’s also one of the favorites of Dave hunt of Anaal Nathrakh

    Not too bad. The album reminds me of a darker, more focused Misery Index. I’m kinda with groverXIII on it though. Good, but not blowing me away or anything.
