“Bad”: Alana Potocnik’s New Pop Song is Better Than Anything Winds of Plague Ever Did

Last year, I joked that Winds of Plague keyboardist Alana Potocnik is “Currently fronting a Destiny Potato cover band, Destiny Potocnik, at Murray’s Motel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.” What she’s actually doing, it turns out, sounds just as silly: working on solo pop music.

Here’s the twist: it’s not bad! I mean, I don’t think Potocnik is the next Ellie Goulding or whatever, but this wouldn’t sound out of place at a drunken dance party in the Neilstein Wing of the MetalSucks Mansion, or while I was waiting on line at the drugstore (basically the two places I still hear pop). I know “It’s better than anything Winds of Plague have ever done” is faint praise, but, seriously: this is some catchy shit!
