Y’all remember how Jaymz is buds with C.O.C.’s Pepper Keenan, right? Hetfield provides backing vocals on the C.O.C. song “Man or Ash,” and to hear Some Kind of Monster co-director Joe Berlinger tell it in his book about the making of that film, Keenan would probably be the bassist in Metallica right now had Papa Hetfield had his way.

Given that Pepper and James go together like pepper and salt, it will probably not surprise you to learn that Hetfield recently joined C.O.C. on-stage in Oakland for a performance of their song “Seven Days.” It will also probably not surprise you to learn that someone filmed that performance. Watch:

Afterwards, Hetfield and Keenan are said to have gone to the mall and gotten those “Best Friends” necklaces where each person has half of the pendant.

Okay so maybe that last part didn’t actually happen, but it would be ADORABLE if it did, right?
