VOLBEAT LOST A GUITAR PLAYER

Even though I don’t know any personally, I keep hearing that Volbeat have a lot of fans. And I’m guessing it’s true, based on how many albums they sell and the tours they get.

So those fans will probably be pretty bummed to read this message from the band:

“Volbeat has decided to part ways with Thomas Bredahl. Being in a band is in many ways similar to a marriage with ups and downs. At times you can work it out and sometimes you need to go separate ways…

“We want to thank him for the work he has put in for Volbeat and we wish him all the best in the future. Volbeat will play all shows as announced, either as a trio or with a replacement guitarist.

“Right now we’ll take a well deserved break and we will be back on the road in January, ready to rock the Gigantour and Wacken.”

As you can probably guess from my introductory sentence, I care about this band about as much as I care about the weather in Wetzlar. So not only does this news do nothing for me, but I can’t even speculate as to whether or not the idea of the band continuing as a trio is a good or horrible idea. A lot of the people who insist this band is great also like Death Magnetic, so I’m assuming the remaining members could come on stage and bang on pots and pans and their fans wouldn’t know the difference.
