COREY TAYLOR FEELS “TACITURN”

I haven’t been paying very close attention to news re: the new Stone Sour album, because I don’t, like, give a shit about Stone Sour. I remember thinking their first album was okay. I haven’t heard anything since that’s made my ears perk up. What was that one album Scott Ian said was so incredible? The one with the song about the numbers, and Corey Taylor wouldn’t tell anyone what the fuck the numbers meant I think? Yeah that one. I didn’t like that. I’d much rather Taylor spend his time working with Slipknot on songs about slitting throats and fucking wounds and people being shit and numbers that actually have some recognizable relevance.

ANYWAY, I mention it because Taylor performed an acoustic version of a song called “Taciturn” at Download this past weekend, and I actually don’t think it’s bad. I tend to think that the ballads are the best part of any mainstream hard rock/pop metal album anyway, though. Like, even washed-up hair metal bands can usually still write a decent power ballad. I don’t know if that means that ballads are just especially easy to write, or if I’m just a pussy who is susceptible to enjoying pretty songs.

Listen to “Taciturn” and decide for yourself:

So remember at the top of this post when I said I haven’t been paying very close attention to news re: the new Stone Sour album, because I don’t, like, give a shit about Stone Sour? Well, I just read on Metal Insider that that album is going to be called The House of Gold and Bones, and is actually going to be two albums, released X amount of time apart, like a alt metal Lord of the Rings or whatever. Holy shit, that sounds like too much Stone Sour. More power to ya if that news makes you happy, though.
