MANMADE GOD REUNION?!?!
So back in 2003, when MetalSucks was still but a twinkle in our collective eye, there was this band called Manmade God who released an absolutely killer album of southern-tinged hard rock and pop metal (produced by Rick Rubin, no less) with which Vince and I fell in love. And then… they more or less abruptly fell off the face of the earth. I have no idea what the whole story was, but I never even got to see them live, which, needless to say, made me very sad.
But hopefully that will change soon! The band has announced a show on July 21 at the New Parish in Oakland, California. I don’t really know what the occasion is, but I’m hoping it leads to a full-on reunion tour, ’cause it would be CRAZY to finally get to see them after all this time.
Here’s a video blog documenting the first time the band came back together since splitting in ’05…
…and here’s a previously-unreleased song from the sessions for their debut album, “Swallow the Sun.” True story: I once made a student film by that same name. COINCIDENCE?!?!?!
