ENSLAVED’S MINDS ARE FULL OF “THOUGHTS LIKE HAMMERS”

Maybe it’s not too late for this summer to turn around and not completely suck after all? Following the news that holy shit the new Pig Destroyer album is really for real coming out this year, Enslaved have just debuted a new song called “Thoughts Like Hammers” over at NPR — and oh my Odin!, it is EPIC.

What’s really remarkable about Enslaved isn’t just that they consistently write great music — it’s that they’re one of those bands whose sound is always evolving, even as they always manage to maintain their identity. The sound of “Hammers” is inarguably the sound of Enslaved, and yet, I can’t name another Enslaved song that sounds just like this. I love this band so much it hurts.
