I AM WAR HAVE ALREADY OUTLIVE[D] YOU ALL, YOU POSERS

You guys should really be checking out I Am War, the new collaboration between Brandan Schieppati and Alex Varkatzas. While the combo of Bleeding Through and Atreyu might not appear to be the tr00est/sexiest at first glance, consider this: those are two of the guys who are basically responsible for creating deathcore and metalcore waaaaay before either got trendy and overdone. Our own Sergeant D’s spent a lot of time touting the massive influence of Bleeding Through — Schieppati’s day job — and D is like a Harvard Professor of all metal trends, so you oughtta trust him carte blanche.

Fitting, then, that Schieppati and Varkatzas’s new project has almost nothing to do with their collective past works. I Am War is an all out grind fest — the hardcore kind, not the death metal kind — full of fast, furious aggression and noise. You will be pleasantly surprised, I guarantee.
