Pinnick, Gales and Pridgen Jam It Out in New “Hang On, Big Brother” Music Video

The new super-trio comprised of King’s X bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick, ex-Mars Volta drumming phenom Thomas Pridgen and guitarist Eric Gales has released their first song, “Hang On, Big Brother,” and it’s exactly the bluesy, soulful, heavy rock n’ roll sound you’d expect from the above cast of characters. I’ll never get tired of hearing Pinnick’s voice (Gales’ ain’t too shabby either); Gales’ riffs and blues-inflected leads hit me in that sweet spot; and Pridgen’s jazzy drumming and creative accenting offer the perfect compliments to the otherwise relatively straight-forward music. I’m definitely stoked to hear the self-titled debut album when it comes out on February 12th via Magna Carta.

Interesting footnote: has there ever been another notable rock or metal band to feature two left-handed players? I can’t think of one.

Here’s the band’s new music video for “Hang On, Big Brother.”
