Like Whoa: Steve Vai to Appear on New Iwrestledabearonce Album

It’s true! According to Metal Injection, the legendary shredder will appear on the track “Carnage Asada” from the band’s forthcoming album, Late for Nothing. While I have no idea why Vai agreed to participate — Is he an IWABO fan? Does he share a mutual friend or business associate with the band? Was he simply well compensated for his troubles? — I do know that his involvement is going to piss off a LOT of people who will view it as a smear on Vai’s legacy.

Personally, I think it would be nice if Vai’s presence finally got some of the IWABO hatas to give the band their due, but that’s probably a wish on par with world peace, bringing Cliff Burton back from the dead, and White Castle food that doesn’t induce twenty-four straight hours of the runs.

Late for Nothing comes out August 6 on Century.
