Ihsahn: “New Album Out in 2013”

Ihsahn is on a pace for total metal world domination: just a year after releasing Eremita, itself coming just two years after the absolutely angelic After, he’s already promising a new record by the end of 2013. The timeline makes sense given photos showing him in the studio in March. This is not a man who wastes time.

From Ihsahn’s Facebook page:

My new album is now finalized by the very capable hands of Jens Bogren and will soon be on its way to Candelight Records. We’ve not set a release date yet, but sometime this autumn for sure. Title and more information about it will be revealed later. Ritxi Ostáriz is nearly there with the artwork, and first photo session with Bjørn Tore Moen was done this week. My Mnemosyne companion, Starofash, has some informal behind the scenes shots on her blog,

We’ll of course update you all as soon as we have more info. Ihsahn fans fiending for new music RIGHT NOW can check out “We Are,” a song he recorded with Serj Tankian, Devin Townsend and Ray Holroyd, the proceeds of which will benefit music education for South African children.
