Malevolent Creation guitarist Phil Fasciana is yet another example of the whole art vs. artist debate: can you still take his band seriously despite revelations over the past few years that Fasciana  is apparently a lyingcoke-addled racist? In other words, assuming the guy is a prick… does that detract from your enjoyment of the music? Should it even be a factor?

If you haven’t taken some time to figure out how you feel about Fasciana in the post-muder-for-chocolate-milk era, here’s a good chance to do so: The Deciblog is streaming a new Malevolent Creation song, “Face Your Fear.” Personally, I think it’s fine, but no, not fine enough to make me forget that Fasciana is a putz. But then, I’ve never really been a MC fan, so maybe I’m not the best person to judge.

Go here to check out the song for yourself. There’s still no word on a title or release date for next Malevolent Creation album, although in an interview that accompanies the track premiere, drummer Gus Rios reveals that “This is only ONE song of many Phil and I are working on,” and that the band may only release EPs in the future. So, uh. Yeah.
