Unsigned and Unholy: Dimitree, From the Petrified Forest, Maeth

Toulouse, France’s Dimitree remind me of a slightly more death metalized Meek is Murder; all the same post-hardcore rage but a little more of the metal riffage. Stream Nine Lives:

From the Petrified Forest are the second band of recent Unsigned and Unholy vintage to remind me of My Vitriol. It’s those big, echo-y, shimmery guitars. I suspect fans of Moving Mountains, Junius, If These Trees Could Talk, etc will really like this.

Maeth‘s new album Oceans Into Ashes takes too long to get started (they apparently didn’t get the memo on intro tracks), but once it finally does kick in it’s a doozy. They’re kinda like a more raw, more earthy, moodier version of Scale the Summit that’s way less interested in guitar acrobatics (and has vocals, albeit not many).
