Fulgora’s “Splinter” Video is a Harrowing Portrayal of Torture

  • Axl Rosenberg

Fulgora’s quest to take art to highly intense new levels doesn’t stop with their music, if their new video for the song “Splinter” is any indication. I’m not especially squeamish, but I still found it hard to watch. The violence isn’t over-the-top the way it normally is in metal videos; presumably there’s some cinematic chicanery going on here, but a lot of it feels like very real footage (most, if not all, of which I’m guessing is not original) of a number of unfortunate souls being tortured in a variety of grisly ways. There’s very little blood in the clip (and the whole thing is in black and white for whatever it’s worth), but you should still probably consider this NSFW.

And if you don’t wanna watch it all because it’s gonna bum you out or give you nightmares or whatever, you can just take my word for it that Fulgora are awesome and worth your time.

Everyone else, here is the video:

“Splinter” appears on Fulgora’s new 7″, which is out now. Buy it here!
