Prepare to Be Stoned: Boris Announce Tour with The Atlas Moth and SubRosa
Seeing Boris live is like getting pummeled with a sledgehammer then being asked to mop up the bloody entrails yourself, all while said sledgehammer continues to bludgeon your remains as you mop, mop away, ever so slowly… all with a smile on your face. When those doomy notes hit, they hit hard — the band plays REALLY fucking loudly — but the deal is sweetened by those bluesy riffs, like eating one of those really, really strong sour straws. Somehow the effect is heightened by the fact that the ringleader is a small Japanese woman. It’s awesome, and I highly recommend getting very, very stoned. Boris are heading out on a U.S. tour in July and August, and it’s gonna be glorious. The Atlas Moth will support; they’re always a welcome addition to any bill. I haven’t seen SubRosa live yet, but Corey Mitchell raved about their last album No Help For the Mighty Ones so I’ll be getting there early to check them out. Dates:
