Sample of New Sunn O))) Sounds Like Sunn O)))
Sunn O))), the official metal band of gastropod molluscs, have released approximately fourteen seconds of atonal feedback with a few notes sprinkled in via Instagram. I am told this is a sample of a new song. Apparently, the band entered the studio to record their new album without any material written. I guess they figured out that you don’t need much prep work when your whole job is to make one note sustain for seven minutes before the next note finally comes along.
What, I wonder, do Sunn O))) fans think when they hear this? “WHOA! Siqq riff, bruh!!!”? Or “Holy shit, these dudes have taken sluggishness to a whole new level!!!”? The mind boggles.
