Before there were blogs there were these things called magazines, and the only metal magazine we still get excited about reading every month is Decibel. Here’s managing editor Andrew Bonazelli…

It may be a glorious 72-degree afternoon at our Philadelphia HQ, but make no mistake: winter is fucking nigh. So, while all the awesomeness of Halloween is just around the corner (can’t wait to see your cool Caitlyn Jenner costume, bro), it’s followed by two lame-o holidays focused on crap that’s the opposite of metal: long weekends with your family, then Jesus.

Things are not looking great for the rest of the world, but as for us, we’re hard at work on not only sending our Finnish Metal Issue to print, but working on a special ultra-secret theme issue (not The Top 100 Metalgaze Bands of All-Time; give us a couple hundred more years) and the Top 40 Albums of the Year issue simultaneously. But even that insane workload hasn’t stopped us from finalizing the lineup to the fifth annual Decibel Tour! Hot on the heels of last year’s most diverse bill (At the Gates, Converge, Pallbearer and Vallenfyre), we can’t tell you much, but here are a few crucial deets. It’ll also be four bands. It’ll launch in the spring of 2016. And we’ll announce the lineup in roughly a month, probably at some awesome related show that Albert hasn’t told me about yet.

Most importantly, we’ll just get it out of the way right now: Deafheaven is not headlining. But there will be interesting haircuts!

While you’re rubbing your unwashed hands together in anticipation of the coolest North American metal jaunt of early 2016, you can commemorate our prior three bloodlettings with cheap-ass shirts and hoodies, all featuring concept art from our own art director Bruno Guerreiro. It’s getting grim and frostbitten, after all.
