Eyewitnesses Offer Differing Accounts of Danzig Concert at Which a Fan Was Allegedly Assaulted

Just a couple of hours ago, we got word that a fan was allegedly brought on stage during a Danzig show in Montreal last night, at which point Danzig and his security guards proceeded to beat the crap out of him.

Now Metal Injection has managed to nab some eye-witness reports from fans who were at the concert, and, well… it’s still not entirely clear what happened.

The most damning accusations come from one fan who wished to remain anonymous (although he was able to prove to Metal Injection that he was at the show):

“I went outside just before the encores to wait and meet Glenn. I was sitting on the steps outside Metropolis, when I seen a couple of security guards carrying a guy outside. The guy was Neil Dalton. Danzig’s bodyguard came outside and began threatening Neil. Neil yelled back and was calling the security and bodyguard pussies and made his claim that he spent all that money to see Danzig.

“After about ten minutes of arguing with the bodyguard and being pushed around by him, Neil finally took off. [Neil] re-entered the venue after being told not to come back. That’s when things got ugly and sure enough Neil got tossed back out this time bloodied up and shoeless. He kept instigating the security and bodyguards by yelling names at them and not leaving like he was told.

“Right after the show ended, Glenn came running out and engaged Neil and threw a kick to Neil’s ribs, and connected. He also swung a couple punches that missed before security got Glenn on his bus. Glenn kept calling Neil a motherfucker”

Two other concert attendees agree that “No one was pulled on stage and beaten,” while says that although he never witnessed anyone hit Dalton, he did see security being overly aggressive with the crowd. One witness claims that while Danzig “beckoned the photographer to come onstage so he’d ‘break his neck,’” the photographer did no such thing — and it’s not even clear if that photographer was Dalton or not.

So, really, the only thing these eyewitness reports tell us is that if Dalton was indeed assaulted by Danzig and/or a member or members of his security team, it did not happen on stage. It’s possible that when Dalton originally wrote “He called me up on stage got got his pussy security guards to rough me up and held me back me back so he could hit me himself” he was referring to two separate incidents, but his language is really unclear.

More as we get it. In the meantime, read all of Metal Injection’s eyewitness reports here.
