Remember that video we posted earlier this year in which YouTuber JusticemakerMusic took us through the evolution of the breakdown in ten different styles? He’s back! This time with a broader scope: the evolution of metal as a whole.

Watch as Justicemaker takes us through ten different styles of metal in chronological order of when each style first caught on, from heavy metal to thrash to black metal and so on and so forth all the way up through modern times. Personally I think this video would flow better if each example was half the length, but it’s still well done.
