Wovenwar Announce New Album, Release New Single
Wovenwar have returned to weave more war! The band has announced that they’ll release their second album, Honor is Dead, on October 21 via Metal Blade. Furthermore, they’ve released a song from that album, “Censorship.”
The song makes good on guitarist Phil Sgrosso assertion that this new record would be “heavier” and “meaner” than the band’s eponymous 2014 debut. Interestingly, though, “heavier” and “meaner” does not translate to “sounds an awful lot like As I Lay Dying” (the band whose former members now make up 4/5ths of Wovenwar). It still sounds like… well… Wovenwar! So it’s the best of both possible worlds: fans of the band’s last album won’t feel like the group pulled a one-eighty on them, but AILD fans who had hoped Wovenwar would be more brutal will have their wish fulfilled. Isn’t it nice when everyone gets what they want?
