Listen to Between the Buried and Me Frontman Thomas Giles’ New Solo Track “Strangers in a Paranoid Mind”

Thomas GilesBetween the Buried and Me frontman Tommy Rogers — who goes under the name Thomas Giles for his solo endeavors — just released a new track called “Strangers in a Paranoid Mind.” And it is TOTALLY different from any music you’ve ever heard from BTBAM. Which is why solo projects are so much fun to listen to! They’re a glimpse into the ever-evolving creative minds of musicians who are usually locked into a particular style with their “day job” band.

Of course, Giles’ departure from BTBAM’s sound won’t come as a surprise to those who checked out his debut solo album Pulse or his sophomore effort Modern Noise. But this new material strikes me as different than even those, which were released five and two years ago, respectively — it’s heavier, edgy, and more overtly electronic/industrial. It’s a cool track, and I’m excited to hear more.

Velcro Kid comes out November 4 on Sumerian Records and you can pre-order it here.
