Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Announces Acoustic Holiday Show for Charity

Dave Mustaine is doing something really sweet. That’s not unheard of, but it is rare enough that I feel like it’s worth mentioning.

The Megadeth mastermind has announced a special acoustic performance to benefit Music Drives Us, a “nonprofit organization supplying grants to music programs designed to effect positive change for people of all ages.” Although the show has been dubbed “Thrashing Through the Snow,” after the name of the fake Megadeth holiday album from this 2013 late night sketch, I can’t figure out whether or not Mustaine will be performing any actual holiday songs. I guess that could be fun.

The only bad news about this thing is that it’s happening at a Hard Rock Café. But it’s for a good cause so we can let that slide.

The performance will take place on December 16 in Boston. Tickets are a hundred bucks, which is a lot, but, again, it’s a special thing for a good cause so don’t whine. For two-hundred-and-fifty bucks, you can also buy into a “meet and eat,” which I assume is a chance to meet Mustaine and be fed some mediocre rock n’ roll-themed hamburgers.

Get tickets and more details here.
