Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares Takes on Trump Supporters on Twitter
They are defending a guy that they don't know and who really doesn't give a fuck about them https://t.co/QLBamZkCb9

It’s not a shock that Dino Cazares isn’t a fan of Donald Trump. For one thing, Cazares has always been proud of his Mexican heritage. For another thing, he has eyes and ears.
It’s also not a secret that Cazares dislikes Trump. The guitarist already received a ton of racist backlash for speaking out against Trump back in March.
Maybe you thought that Cazares would pipe down now that we’ve elected this loathsome nitwit to the highest office in the world. Wouldn’t wanna potentially alienate any Trumpets who like Fear Factory despite the presence of a Latino musician, right?
Wrong. This weekend, Cazares got into it with a now-former fan who supports the President-elect on Twitter.
The disagreement began after Cazares tweeted a joke referring to Trump’s infamous (and wholly ridiculous) accusation that climate change is a hoax perpetrated by China. One fan immediately became pissy about the joke, and things escalated from there:
@DinoCazares I like how fans think your last album was a hoax. How about shutting your fat mouth before you lose more fans bc of your political views?

@DinoCazares 5) It's frustrating in these times to see those in the limelight you'd admired now have a social media platform & use it to prolong

@DinoCazares 4) detached leftist with a skewed view. You're another example of a hero of mine dying and it sucks to see, hence my aggressive approach.

We don’t agree that Cazares’ political view and his music have nothing to do with one another, but otherwise he’s on very solid ground here. What’s happening in the world right now is too serious for us to remain silent; we need to make sure our voices are heard, LOUDLY. By saying what he knows to be right regardless of the potential consequences regarding a loss of fans, Cazares is being a true patriot. He deserves major props.
And in any case, he’s also right about another thing: if his political views bother someone that much, they should just unfollow him. If they support Donald Trump, they value who-knows-what over racial equality. So whether they want to admit it to themselves or not, they don’t really have that much respect for Dino, anyway.
