WSOU Picks of the Week: Municipal Waste, Mutoid Man, and At the Drive-In

0

Seton Hall University’s WSOU radio is the only all-metal, all-the-time station currently broadcasting in the US, and as been a force in metal for DECADES. It’s also streamable online from anywhere in the world! Each week, the staff of WSOU shares their picks for the heaviest of the heavy, as well as the station’s charts for that week, right here on MetalSucks. Enjoy:

Mutoid Man – “Kiss of Death” (Dylan G.)

Mutoid Man’s follow up to their first single, “Melt Your Mind,” absolutely met my expectations for this band. Mutoid Man ups the energy from their last release with an emphasis on stoner-infused riffing. Their latest album, War Moans, is shaping up to be a definite personal top album of the year.

At the Drive-In – “Pendulum in a Peasant Dress” (Adriana M.)

Can the band make their epic comeback? At the Drive-In is set to drop their first album in seventeen years, in•ter a•li•a. The song “Pendulum in a Peasant Dress” is just a taste of what’s to come. With catchy vocals and staggering breakdowns, this song will have you feeling twisted in the best fucking way.

Municipal Waste – “Amateur Sketch” (Garren L.)

If you’re a fan of crossover thrash or thrash in general, then 2017 has been a red letter year for you, and it just got better. Municipal Waste has just released a new track from their upcoming album, Slime and Punishment, called Amateur Sketch. Municipal Waste has once again proven why they are one of the most important bands in crossover thrash. This song is fast, aggressive, and takes no prisoners — it is almost impossible not to want to start up a circle pit while listening to it.
