The Faceless and Slaughter to Prevail Will Miss Tonight’s Summer Slaughter Tour Kick-Off

If you’re going to tonight’s Summer Slaughter tour kick-off at Reverb, in Reading, PA, we’ve got some bad news for you: neither The Faceless nor Slaughter to Prevail will be performing.

A reader attending the show contacted us roughly an hour ago to let us know that both bands had been scratched from this evening’s bill. Just as we were in the process of trying to confirm the cancellation, Slaughter to Prevail posted this message on Facebook:

“Due to reasons beyond anyone’s control, our resources needed to travel have been delayed. Our team is doing everything possible to ensure we arrive to the states as soon as possible. Unfortunately this means we will be missing a part of the Summer Slaughter tour dates. We are very sorry to all of our incredible fans, and all of the awesome bands and crew on the tour.”

As of this writing, The Faceless have not yet publicly commented on the situation. But what is there for them to say, really? This is the latest in a string of cancellations which have plagued the band this year, including tours of Australia and Europe. The situation became sufficiently dramatic that their manager announced he’ll no longer work with them. Literally, as soon as they were added to Summer Slaughter, everyone started taking bets as to whether or not they’d show up. The fact that they’re missing the very show on the tour makes them look very, very, very bad. Slaughter to Prevail, at least, are traveling to the U.S. from their native Russia; The Faceless don’t even have that excuse.

The next stop on the tour will take place tomorrow, Friday, July 28 at  The Starland Ballroom in Sayerville, NJ. We’ll see if either band manages to make it to that gig.

In the meantime, you can get all other Summer Slaughter dates here.
