“The Sky is a Neighborhood”: Foo Fighters Release New Song + Video Starring Dave Grohl’s Daughters

I’m sure his daughters think he’s a total goober the way all kids think their parents are total goobers, but still: you have to be jealous of Dave Grohl’s offspring, who will surely look back some day and realize they had the coolest dad anyone could ever ask for.

As if bringing his younger daughter, Harper, on stage to jam on some Queen wasn’t rad enough, Harper and her older sister, Violet (age eleven), are now featured in the most-excellent video for Foo Fighters’ most-excellent new single, “The Sky is a Neighborhood.” There’s also something pretty funny about the concept of the video, which inverts the usual parent/child dynamic. Check it out:

Cool video, right? But also… how great is this song??? It’s like nothing the band has ever done before, but it still fits in perfectly with the rest of their material. This, my friends, is artistic evolution done right.

“The Sky is a Neighborhood”  will appear on the Foos’ new album, Concrete and Gold, which comes out September 15 via Roswell Records / RCA Records. The group will kick off a tour of North America in October; get dates here.
