Indecision Guitarist Justin Brannan Wins NYC Primary Election for City Council

0

Hardcore musician turned politician Justin Brannan, guitarist for ’90s NYHC outfit Indecision and ’00s metalcore outfit Most Precious Blood, lives to fight another day in his quest to become a New York City council member. Brannan won by a narrow margin in this past Tuesday’s Democratic primary election, and will go on to face Republican John Quaglione in the general election on November 7th.

Metal Insider reports that Gothamist reports that Brannan received 38.66% of the vote, beating out Khader El-Yateem by just over 7%. Brannan, who formerly served as current City Council Member Vincent Gentile’s chief-of-staff, will represent the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst (former home of the legendary metal venue L’Amour!) and Bath Beach on the city’s law-making body if elected.

If you live in Brannan’s district, make sure you go vote on November 7th! Bring a little PMA with you. Check out his official campaign website for more information.
