Dee Snider Will Return to Broadway in Rocktopia Musical

0

More than seven years after Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider joined the cast of Rock of Ages to sing the rock hits of yesterday for the Broadway crowd, the boy from Queens will return to Manhattan for a very limited appearance in Rocktopia this April.

Dee has always had a flare for the theatrical — his performances in Twisted Sister speak for themselves, but he also released a Broadway showtunes covers album a few years back — so it’s no surprise to learn that he isn’t gonna take it anymore and wants to rock The Great White Way again.

Dee will appear as “a special guest vocalist” from April 9th through 15th in Rocktopia, which a press release describes thusly:

“An explosive concert event that fuses the most iconic 20th-century rock with world-renowned classical masterpieces, Rocktopia features the works of musical innovators across centuries — including Journey, Mozart, Queen, Beethoven, Aerosmith, Handel, Led Zeppelin, Tchaikovsky, U2, Heart, Puccini, The Who and more — performed by an elite lineup of vocalists, a five-piece rock band, a thirty-person choir, and a twenty-piece orchestra.”

Rocktopia opens today, March 27th; tickets can be purchased at Telecharge. The performance schedule is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2 & 8pm, Sunday at 2 & 7pm.
