Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, and The Cult to Provide Summer Entertainment for AARP

My septuagenarian mother recently dragged me to a black and white art film about menopausal lesbian nuns in Poland after World War 2 (or something like that). The movie was two hours, which might seem reasonable, except I was the youngest person in the theater by forty years, and some members of the crowd did not look like they had another hundred-and-twenty minutes left to live. The most entertaining part of the experience became watching the audience and trying to figure out who’d still be breathing at the closing credits and who would never get to find out whatever did happen to those poor nuns.

I was reminded of this when I saw that Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, and The Cult are all doing a summer tour together. I’m thirty-six and I would expect to be on that crowd’s youthful side. If I were going. Which I am not. And I’m not sure anyone reading this will be, either. The target audience for this tour may not know how to use the Internet. They’ll have to wait to learn about these shows from Tabitha Soren. Don’t worry if you didn’t get that joke. If you did you, feel free to curl up into a ball and cry for an hour.
