Melvins and Sleep’s Al Cisneros Readying New Collaboration?

It would appear that the Melvins and Sleep bassist Al Cisneros (also of OM and Shrinebuilder fame) are going to release a collaborative new two-song 10″ entitled Sabbath.

Rumblings of the news began last week, when the Melvins updated their Facebook profile picture and included the caption “a dark sabbath in 10″ form cometh duuuuuude.”

Now the band has posted a link to an eBay auction for a test pressing of a two-song EP, Sabbath, which is described as an “upcoming Amphetamine Reptile release.” It’s in the auction’s description that the news of Cisneros being part of the record is revealed.

Unfortunately, no additional information is available at this time — so we don’t know anything about Sabbath‘s release date or its content. But if the Melvins themselves (or whomever they’ve authorized to run their social media accounts) are posting links to the eBay auction, it seems like a safe bet that this is all legit.

Presumably we’ll know more soon. In the meantime, you can big on the test pressing here. It’s gonna cost you, though: as of this writing, the bidding it at $800.
