Megadeth Will Perform Youthanasia in Full on Halloween 2019

0

Megadeth have never shied away from the trend of playing classic albums in full to celebrate landmark anniversaries. One might even argue they helped pioneer the fad, having toured the 20th anniversary of Rust in Peace all the way back in 2010 before bands starting trotting out classic album tours en masse.

Mustaine is firing up the nostalgia cannons once again, this time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the band’s 1994 album Youthanasia. For now fans will get just one show — on Halloween night in Denver, one day shy of the album’s actual 25th anniversary (November 1st) — but who’s to say there won’t be more in the future? After a South American tour in September and early October, Megadeth are scheduled to perform at the new Exit 111 festival in Tennessee on October 11th, on their own Megacruise from October 13th through 18th (leaving from Los Angeles) and now this Denver show on the 31st. Maybe they’re planning to connect the dots with more dates in between.

Of course what fans would most want to see is the original Youthanasia lineup performing the album… which came close to happening at one point but sadly now never will. I reckon the current lineup doing it will be pretty neat, too.

Tickets go on sale today, June 4th, at 8am MDT to Megadeth Cyber Army members. The general on-sale goes wide on Friday, June 7th at 10am. Tickets here.
