No One Knows What the Dead Think: Discordance Axis Members Reunite in New Band

Do you miss Discordance Axis? Hey, I don’t blame you: the trio were arguably one of the best grindcore bands of all time, and the world is a poorer place without them.

Which is why it’s so exciting that two of the band’s three members, vocalist Jon Chang (also of Gridlink fame) and guitarist Rob Marton, have reunited in a new band, No One Know What the Dead Think. They’re now joined by drummer Kyosuke Nakano (Cohol) instead of Dave Witte (Municipal Waste, Burnt by the Sun, a billion other cool bands).

No One Know What the Dead Think started working together back in 2016, but now the band has announced that they will at least release a self-titled debut on September 20 via Willowtip. And based on the first single, “Yohra,” I’m guessing this shit is gonna be every bit as good as you’d hope. It’s all vulturous guitars and firing squad drums and of course Chang, as usual, screams like he’s being crushed to death by an anaconda. With all due respect to Witte, who is obviously a total boss, I can’t see any Discordance Axis fan feeling let down by this shit.

Do “Yohra” self a favor and check out the song below*. No One Know What the Dead Think was recorded by Kevin Antreassian at Backroom Studios and produced by Marton, Chang, and Antreassian. Pre-order it here.
