Butcher Babies Bassist Jason Klein Quits; Can the Band Survive Without Him?!?!

Butcher Babies drummer… oh, wait, no, he’s their bassist… so… Butcher Babies bassist… uh… [checks notes]… Jason Klein has quit the band, citing a desire to be at home helping to raise his daughter. As if that was important! Sheesh!

Klein’s departure naturally raises questions about the band’s future, such as:

  • Will anyone notice Klein is gone?
  • Will the band take an afternoon to hire a replacement, or just continue with a backing track?
  • Would fans care if the band’s music just simply didn’t have bass anymore?
  • What was the name of the guy I’m meant to be writing about again?

Reached for comment, one of the Butcher Babies had this to say about… uh… shit!… [checks notes again] Klein’s departure:

Kleen — sorry, Klein, Klein — has also released a statement, explaining his decision to depart:

The world sits on the edge of its collective seat waiting to see if Chris Adler remains in Lamb of God or not. But also we’ll let you know if something happens with the Butcher Babies bassist position.

The night I met @b_b_bassplayer we talked about two things: heavy metal and his daughter. He was helping some band load in and out that night at the HOB in the hopes that he’d get a gig playing bass for them. At the time @heidithebutcher and I were putting together @butcherbabies so when he told me how much he loved Cannibal Corpse, Anthrax and Van Halen I suggested he play with us instead 😂the rest is history. Our brother is now hanging up his bass to spend more time with his daughter, but I am beyond grateful for his friendship over the last decade that we have spent making music and touring the world together. Jason you are a stellar musician and even better father, I will miss you so much!! #butcherbabies #jasonklein
