Bleed the Sky Drain the “Serpent”

  • Axl Rosenberg

Bleed the Sky are about to drop This Way Lies Madness, their first new album in over a decade, and I’m rootin’ for ’em. Why? Not sure. I still think that song “Minion” is a rager (I think of the lyric “I sit inside with this shit inside” every time I’m constipated), but it’s not as though I was ever ready to run out and get a BTS tramp stamp or whatever. Maybe I’m just feeling sentimental about the NWOAHM because it’s the subgenre/movement/whatever from which MetalSucks sprang forth.

In any case, the band’s new single, “Serpent,” is okay; the chorus and the last minute or so of the track are fairly epic, and the stuff in-between is fine if not spectacular. That’s probably par for the course with Bleed the Sky.

You can check out Bleed the Sky’s “Serpent” below. This Way Lies Madness comes out January 17 on Art Is War. They also have a buncha tour dates with Skinlab, Arise in Chaos and So This Is Suffering coming up. You can get those at the bottom of this post.
