“Megadeth is Back!” Proclaims the Band
With Megadeth set to embark on an extensive tour of Europe with Five Finger Death Punch in less than two weeks, one would assume frontman Dave Mustaine has been proclaimed in good health by the doctors treating his throat cancer. Still, there are always those nagging doubts: this tour was announced four months ago, and what if Mustaine hadn’t healed up during that time as expected despite completing treatment back in October?
Rest easy, Mega-fans: the tour is definitely happening! In a post to the band’s Twitter account yesterday evening, January 7, a nameless band associate (with direction from Dave, surely), kept it simple, proclaiming:
“Megadeth is back! We can’t wait to see and play for you all on the Killing Road in 2020! What songs do you want to hear?”
The ol’ “What songs do you want to hear?” trick is surely a gimmick to inspire fan interaction on this post — the setlist is likely already locked in, and a band of Megadeth’s legacy doesn’t have much leeway to veer from the hits fans expect to hear, especially given they’ll be playing a 45-minute opening set — but the real news here, of course, is that Dave is in good enough health for the tour to proceed!
