Watch: Nightwish Frontwoman Covers Heart’s “Alone,” Nails It

Nightwish frontwoman Floor Jansen has posted an absolutely stunning cover of the Heart classic, “Alone.”

Jansen’s vocal performance, captured live in the below video, gives the heart-wrenching (no pun intended) original that special classical touch for which she’s known. It takes a timeless, dynamic tune and dare I say somehow makes it even more so.

Jansen explained of the cover, which features music by Joost Van Den Broek:

“Picking ‘Alone’ from @thebandheart as my second cover on YouTube felt like the right decision. I have performed this song with Nightwish, After Forever, and even at the Christmas Metal Symphony! So when I saw many of you requesting this song, I got to work! Hope you enjoy it!”

The first song in Floor’s YouTube cover series was a metal version of “Let it Go” from Disney’s Frozen released earlier this month.
