I’ve become so accustomed to Michael Lessard being The Contortionist’s singer that I actually half-forgot that for their first two albums, Exoplanet and Intrinsic, they were fronted by another dude Jonathan (not John!) Carpenter.

I have no idea what Carpenter has been up to for the last 7+ years, but he’s back now, lending his talents to Abiotic’s new single, “Grief Eater, Tear Drinker,” which I assume was inspired by Vince and I’s sixth grade math teacher.

You can check out “Grief Eater, Tear Drinker” via the below music video (courtesy of Toilet Ov Hell), which was Directed & Animated by Tony Simone.

“Grief Eater, Tear Drinker” will appear on Abiotic’s new album, Icky Guy, which will be released on February 12 via The Artisan Era. In addition to Carpenter, it features guest appearances from Brandon Ellis (The Black Dahlia Murder), Scott Carstairs (Fallujah), Jared Smith (Archspire), and Chaney Crabb (Entheos). Pre-order it here (physical) or here (digital).
