Quicksand Unveil New Song, “Inversion”

0

After a very long hiatus, Walter Schreifels brought Quicksand back to life in 2017 with a new album, Interiors, after first dabbling in live performances for a number of years. Thankfully this time we didn’t have to wait another 22 years for new music: Quicksand have unveiled a brand new song called “Inversion.”

Schreifels offered the following on it:

“The music to ‘Inversion‘ was very squatter punk at first. To get something going vocally I started singing in an English Neil Nausea kind of vibe (Nausea are a peace/squatter punk band from the Lower East Side of Manhattan). The lyrics reflect the push and pull of being very connected through technology while at the same time being the most emotionally isolated group of humans to ever walk the planet and fun stuff like that.”

So, ya know… super upbeat! You can give the song a listen below. The video features artwork by Japanese artist Tetsunori Tawaraya and was animated by Los Angeles-based artist Rob Fidel. No word yet on a new album.
