The internet being the internet — and Metallica fans being Metallica fans — a Reddit user who clearly doesn’t have children has taken to the time to analyze every single Metallica lyric ever for a comprehensive study on James Hetfield’s most commonly-used words. And the results might surprise you!

It’s not Papa Het’s patented “Yeah!”s that take the top nod (“yeah” landed at #12):

Nor is it his equally familiar “No!”s .

It’s not even his trademark in-song laughs, though it’s questionable whether those should be considered words:

Nope, it’s none of those. It’s “never.” I bet you’re smacking yourself on the forehead right about now.

“Enter Sandman,” of course, has the lyrics, “Off to never never land,” while “Through the Never” and “The Day That Never Comes” have the word right in their titles. “The Unforgiven,” “Nothing Else Matters,” “Don’t Tread on Me,” “Wherever I May Roam,” and “Master of Puppets” are just a few of the others to use the word.

“One” and “see” are the runners up, not lagging far behind “never.” Full chart below. Who’s gonna make the inevitable “never” supercut video?
