Aaron Lewis Drunkenly Performs Staind’s “It’s Been a While” Twice at the Same Show Without Realizing

0

Staind frontman Aaron Lewis, noted man of the people, behavioral role model, constitutional expert, philosophical scholar and true American, played the same song twice without realizing it at a show last night in Dewey Beach, DE.

After playing Staind’s 2001 hit, “It’s Been a While,” earlier in the set, Lewis — performing alone and acoustically while wearing a “Fuck Biden” shirt in the president’s home state — revisited the track later on, becoming aware of the mistake only at the end of the second go-round.

At the 7:40 mark in the video below, a quizzical look comes upon Lewis’s face towards the very end of the song — the second time he’d performed it — before he stops and addresses the crowd, saying:

“You know what I’m realizing right this second? That I’m drunk enough that I should be playing ‘Outside’ right now, and instead I’m playing a fucking song I already played tonight. Which means I might be slightly over-served. So should I play the fucking song that I was supposed to be playing the whole fucking time? Because maybe I might have smoked a little bit too much weed tonight. I will say that’s a first. That’s a first right there… I’ll hear about that one tomorrow.”

You will indeed hear about it tomorrow, Aaron. Here I am, reporting for duty, sir! Thank you for your service.

You can watch the performance below.
