Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart and Abigail Williams Announce Devastation on the Nation 2022 Tour

At the very dawn of the pandemic, the organizers of the Devastation on the Nation tour were among the most forward-thinking in the industry, opting to say “screw it” to all of 2021, unlike so many other bands, and punting to early 2021, which at the time seemed like an eternity away. Things MUST be better by then, we thought! How naïve we all were… if only we knew. The tour was eventually canceled entirely in September of 2020 when it became clear conditions wouldn’t improve any time soon.

But here we are a year later, and the tour has announced plans for an April and May 2022 run. Surely things MUST be better by then… right? … right? [sigh]

Assuming the nation’s unvaccinated holdouts don’t continue to obstinately ruin it for the rest of us, the lineup will be the same as the original 2020 incarnation — Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart and Abigail Williams — minus Imperial Triumphant, who presumably have other plans. The tour announcement does tease a mystery fifth band, however, so maybe it’ll end up being Imperial Triumphant after all once some prior commitments are met… or another band entirely. We’ll keep you posted.
